John Baird Visits Troops in Afghanistan

(Ottawa) - Visiting our troops in Afghanistan and witnessing first hand the tremendous reconstruction efforts by our Canadian Forces was top of local Member of Parliament John Baird's Christmas wish list.

Baird had the opportunity to tour the Canadian Forces Bases in Kabul and Kandahar over Christmas. Baird, shown in the accompanying phot with Chief of Defence Staff, General Rick Hillier and comedian Rick Mercer on a Sea King Helicopter on their way back from HMCS Ottawa to Kandahar.
