(Ottawa) - John Baird, MP (Ottawa West-Nepean) lent his support, and coffee-pouring skills, to the Tim Hortons at 993 Richmond Road this morning for Tim Horton's annual Camp Day. Every penny raised from coffee sales at participating Tim Horton's on Camp Day is donated to the Tim Horton Children's Foundation.
"I am honoured to participate in this annual event," said Baird. "Tim Horton's Camp Day is a great initiative, which provides some deserving kids with a great summer experience."
Established in 1986, Camp Day gives customers the opportunity to buy a coffee and help send over 11,000 kids - who could not otherwise afford it - on the camping adventure of a lifetime. All children who attend the Foundation's camp sessions are selected by Tim Horton's store owners who work closely with local youth organizations and schools to choose kids who would most benefit from an experience at camp. Campers, aged nine to 12 years, attend a 10 day summer camp session or a seven day winter camp session at one of the Foundation's six camps.
