John Baird Takes a Step to Help Kids Help Phone
(Ottawa) – John Baird took a step to help the Kids Help Phone at Vincent Massey Park yesterday. The Ottawa West-Nepean MP volunteered at the local Bell Walk for Kids Help Phone where 750 walkers raised $155,000 towards the national campaign’s $3 million total.
“This event has been a huge success in Ottawa,” said Baird, who helped out by delivering snacks and refreshments to the 750 walkers who took on the five-kilometre course. “The Kids Help Phone is a great organization that takes time to help kids in their time of need. Their work is very important to our children and our communities, and the money raised today will make it possible for them to continue their work,” added Mr. Baird.
This year’s event, the largest national fundraising activity for Kids Help Phone, raised a record-breaking $3 million for Kids Help Phone, surpassing last year’s total of $2.7 million.
